Eggs for breakfast reduce calorie intake

Latest Opinion: Eating eggs for breakfast everyday can reduce hunger and reduce calorie intake while eating lunch and all day long. There is growing body of evidence supporting the importance of high quality protein foods for overall health, and in particular the importance of protein in breakfast meal.

The researchers hypothesis that consuming eggs for breakfast significantly lower hunger and asupan energy throughout the day.

To test this hypothesis, the researchers examine two special American breakfast-eggs for breakfast and the participants’ self-reported appetite ratings.

For this purpose, 21 men, aged between 20 and 70 years recruited and requested that two separate test breakfast, in random order separated by a week.

Fasting blood samples collected when the research began before breakfast and evidence 30, 60, 120 and 180 minutes after breakfast. After 180 minutes, participants are given lunch buffet and asked to eat until full.

The researchers analyzed the concentration of plasma glucose, insulin and appetite hormones at all times.

Found that men who consume eggs for breakfast eat fewer calories when offered food buffet is limited compared to when they eat carbohydrate-rich breakfast bagel calories the same.

In other words, a protein-rich breakfast helped keep hunger at day. Starting the day with a high quality protein breakfast like eggs found to be a great tool to promoting long-lasting fullness and reduced calorie intake.

The study supports previous research, which found that eating eggs for breakfast as part of a low-calorie diet helped overweight dieters lose 65 percent more weight and feel more energetic than dieters who ate a bagel breakfast of equal calories and volume.
